Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Personal Care Assistant and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring compassionate, personalized support. In this vital role, you will provide essential assistance with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure safety and comfort for residents in various care settings. Your energetic approach and attentive nature will help create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel valued and cared for every day. We are looking for candidates to fulfill an 8p - 8a shift, 3 nights per week. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote healthy eating habits. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering positive communication and engaging residents in social activities or recreational pursuits. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, organizing personal spaces, and ensuring infection control standards are met. Assist with transportation needs such as escorting residents to appointments or community outings, ensuring their safety during transfers. Skills Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts safely. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams. Experience working with diverse populations such as seniors, individuals with autism or developmental disabilities, and those requiring hospice or palliative care.
