Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure comfort and hygiene. Support residents with mobility using proper patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while respecting resident's rights and privacy under HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. Support medication administration following care plans and document all care activities precisely. Provide companionship and emotional support while fostering positive communication with clients and their families. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration. Experience working with individuals with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is advantageous. Knowledge of patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and patient personal care assistance techniques is essential. Familiarity with care plans, HIPAA compliance, hospice care principles, and resident's rights enhances your effectiveness in this role. Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining manual handling safety standards. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required or obtainable upon hire to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
