As a nonprofit organization, we provide compassionate care to over 60 residents, focusing on enhancing quality of life and fostering independence in a nurturing environment. Overview We are seeking energetic and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care, support daily activities, and promote a safe, respectful environment for individuals with diverse needs, including those with cognitive disabilities, dementia, and other age-related conditions. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors Monitor residents' vital signs and overall health status regularly Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning in accordance with dietary needs Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment through light housekeeping and sanitation tasks Uphold residents' rights by respecting their dignity, privacy, and individual preferences while fostering independence Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or residential care settings preferred Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, geriatrics, and home & community care practices Ability to perform manual handling and safe patient lifting practices; heavy lifting may be required Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable; ongoing training provided if needed Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is a plus Strong communication skills to effectively engage with residents and team members Ability to operate a standard passenger car safely when required for resident outings or appointments Join us at Hope Village where your dedication transforms lives!
