Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene Support clients in medication administration and monitoring vital signs in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations Provide patient observation and monitor for changes in health or behavior to ensure safety and well-being Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning, cooking, and feeding as needed Help residents with mobility using manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning common areas and resident rooms Support residents during community outings or personal transportation needs using appropriate safety measures Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and facility policies Assist with specialized care such as Alzheimer's care, dementia support, memory care, or neurodevelopmental disorders as required Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies Skills Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable Strong knowledge of patient care techniques including patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and patient transfer methods Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's support, memory care strategies, and resident's rights principles Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with manual handling tasks involving patients or residents with mobility challenges Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with clients, families, team members, and healthcare professionals Experience working with individuals who have autism or other neurodevelopmental disabilities is a plus Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) Ability to follow detailed care plans while maintaining flexibility to adapt to changing needs Competence in basic first aid and CPR certification for emergency response preparedness Strong organizational skills for documenting care activities accurately and maintaining compliance standards Join us in making a positive impact every day!
