Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Day Support, where your passion for helping others makes a meaningful difference every day! In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, person-centered care to individuals with developmental and neurodevelopmental disabilities, including autism and cognitive disabilities. What You'll Do Provide 1:1 or small-group (up to 1:3) support to adults with IDD in community settings Accompany participants on public transit, to local businesses, libraries, and recreation sites as part of structured daily programming Implement each participant's Individual Support Plan (ISP) goals through hands-on coaching and skill-building activities Support participants working toward employment readiness — including job coaching, resume preparation, and workplace skill practice Implement Positive Behavioral Support strategies and any individual's current Behavior Support Plan Complete daily written progress notes documenting activities, goal progress, and any notable events Monitor health and safety at all times, including administering first aid when needed and following emergency procedures Communicate professionally and consistently with your supervisor, participants' families, and support coordinators Complete all required documentation accurately and on time, including EVV clock-in/out for every service session Attend required training, team meetings, and supervision sessions What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED required; some college or human services coursework a plus Prior experience supporting individuals with IDD, autism, or related disabilities strongly preferred — but we are also willing to train the right person with the right heart for this work A valid driver's license and clean driving record (you may be asked to transport participants using agency protocols) Comfort and confidence navigating public transit, retail environments, and community spaces Strong communication skills — you'll be documenting your day, coordinating with supervisors, and building trust with families Patience, flexibility, and a genuine belief in the dignity and potential of every person you support Ability to complete DBHDS-required pre-service training before your first shift (paid training provided) CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain — we'll help you get certified) Must pass a criminal background check and Central Registry / APS search per state requirements What Guardian Hands Offers Competitive hourly pay, based on experience Paid DBHDS pre-service training — you get paid to get certified Mileage reimbursement for any required participant transportation A supportive supervisor who reviews your work weekly and is available for real-time guidance The opportunity to make a direct, visible impact in someone's life every single day A growing organization where hardworking DSPs have room to advance into supervisory and program leadership roles Flexible scheduling — full-time and part-time positions available, Monday through Friday, daytime hours (no nights, no weekends)

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, daytime hours. Typical shifts run approximately 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility depending on participant schedules. No evening or weekend shifts required for this role.
