LEAD DSP Starting Pay:

$18/hour — Higher starting rate based on experience ; Potential pay increase after 90 days based on consistent performance, reliability, and demonstrated competency.

Monday-Friday | 2:30 PM-10:00 PM No weekends! Rotating holidays required | Holiday pay provided We're looking for an experienced, dependable Lead DSP who takes pride in providing quality care and treating every participant with dignity, patience, and respect. What We're Looking For 3-5 years of DSP experience required Experience transcribing medication orders onto MARs Experience placing grocery orders using a company account Ability to prompt and physically assist with ADLs Comfortable managing aggressive and/or challenging behaviors Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills Professional, respectful, dependable, and able to multitask Excellent attendance and reliability are non-negotiable Planned time off must be requested in advance Unscheduled absences are only acceptable for true emergencies, with documentation when applicable Must be available for rotating holidays No barrier crimes College experience preferred This Is an Important Role. Responsibilities Lead and supervise direct support staff to ensure high-quality care aligned with residents' individual needs and rights Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using safe patient lifting practices and manual handling techniques Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all medication administration activities Support residents during meal preparation and assist with feeding as needed to promote nutrition and hydration Maintain a clean, safe environment by adhering to infection control procedures, cleaning schedules, and safety standards such as Hoyer lift operation and heavy lifting protocols Communicate effectively with clients, families, healthcare providers, and team members to coordinate care plans and ensure residents' rights are upheld Participate in ongoing training on topics like geriatrics, assisted living best practices, CPR/First Aid certification renewal, and resident safety procedures Skills Extensive experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes with older adults or individuals with disabilities Proven ability to assist with ADLs and provide personal care in compliance with safety standards Strong background in dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care strategies, and behavior management techniques Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and medication administration procedures Familiarity with group home operations and home & community-based services environments Skilled in manual handling techniques including safe patient lifting practices and Hoyer lift operation Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents' families and multidisciplinary teams Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining resident dignity and comfort Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments in a compassionate manner Valid certifications in CPR/First Aid; additional certifications such as caregiving or senior care are advantageous Join us to be part of a passionate team committed to enriching lives through dedicated support.
