On the road Make an Impact Every Day Welcome Home Residential LLC is hiring four dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with developmental disabilities while they participate in community activities, appointments, volunteer opportunities and recreational outings. This is an active, community-based position. Employees must use their personal vehicles to transport members throughout each shift. Available Positions and Schedules We are hiring for two teams: Daytime Team - Two Positions Monday through Friday 7:00 AM-5:00 PM Scheduled two to three days per week Evening and Weekend Team - Two Positions Monday through

Friday:

3:00 PM-8:00

PM Saturday and Sunday:

10:00 AM-3:00 PM Scheduled two to three days per week based on program needs and availability Weekend availability is required for these positions Applicants should indicate which schedule they are applying for. Transportation Requirement Driving is a primary and essential responsibility of this position.

Employees must:

Use their personal vehicle to transport members Have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Maintain current automobile insurance Have a reliable, safe and properly registered vehicle Be comfortable driving throughout Portsmouth, Norfolk, Chesapeake and surrounding areas Safely assist members entering and exiting the vehicle Follow all traffic laws and transportation safety procedures Key Responsibilities Provide direct support, supervision and assistance in community settings Transport members to and from activities using your personal vehicle Help members participate in recreational, educational, social and volunteer activities Encourage independence, communication and community involvement Support members in achieving their individualized goals Maintain active supervision and safety awareness Monitor members' health and respond appropriately to medical or behavioral concerns Follow Individualized Service Plans and approved support strategies Communicate professionally with members, families, coworkers and supervisors Complete service documentation accurately and on time Report incidents, concerns and changes in members' needs promptly Required Qualifications At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities Valid driver's license Acceptable driving record Reliable personal vehicle Current automobile insurance and vehicle registration Willingness and ability to transport members regularly Ability to work independently and follow individualized care plans Strong communication, dependability and time-management skills Ability to pass all required background checks Ability to complete a TB screening and required onboarding training Preferred Qualities Compassionate, patient and dependable Strong safety awareness and sound judgment Comfortable working independently in community settings Experience providing community engagement or direct support services Able to remain active and engaged throughout the shift Benefits Flexible part-time scheduling Paid training Meaningful, purpose-driven work Supportive and team-oriented environment Opportunities for professional growth and advancement Important Information This is not a facility-based position. DSPs will spend most of their shifts supporting members in the community. Applicants must have a dependable personal vehicle and be willing to use it to transport members.
