9:00 AM•7:00 PM Kahak Health Care Services is seeking a dependable, patient, and active Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to a teenager receiving in-home services. This individual is energetic, social, and enjoys staying active. Preferred activities include walks, outdoor activities, shopping, games, videos, playing with balls, and community outings. This position is best suited for a DSP who enjoys staying involved and can provide active, hands-on support throughout the shift . What You Will Do The DSP will: Provide close one-on-one supervision. Help the individual remain safe at home and in the community. Participate in recreational and community activities. Help with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other personal-care routines as needed. Help with simple household tasks and daily living skills. Encourage physical activity and healthy daily routines. Give simple directions and reminders. Help the individual practice communication and social skills. Teach and reinforce personal space and appropriate boundaries. Use praise, positive reinforcement, and calm redirection. Supervise meals and monitor for safe eating. Monitor for fall and wandering/elopement risks. Complete required Daily Progress Notes and other shift documentation. Follow the individual's established support and safety plans. What You Should Expect This individual requires close supervision and frequent interaction . The DSP should be prepared for: A high-energy individual who enjoys frequent attention and interaction. Wandering/elopement risk. Limited awareness of danger. Difficulty following directions at times. Possible challenging behaviors, including hitting, kicking, scratching, pinching, throwing objects, or property damage. Personal-care and toileting assistance. Meal supervision. Fall-risk monitoring. Community outings. Frequent redirection and reminders. The individual responds well to clear expectations, simple directions, choices, praise, and positive attention . Staff should be calm, patient, consistent, and comfortable remaining actively involved throughout the shift. Ideal DSP We are looking for someone who is: Patient and dependable. Calm when responding to challenging behaviors. Comfortable providing personal care. Comfortable working one-on-one. Able to maintain close supervision. Comfortable participating in community outings. Active and willing to participate in activities with the individual. Able to follow support and safety procedures. Able to complete clear and accurate documentation. Consistent and able to maintain the scheduled shifts. Important This is an active support position , not a passive supervision assignment. The DSP will be expected to interact with, supervise, redirect, teach, and participate in activities with the individual throughout the shift. Requirements :

A minimum of one year experience in the medical or a related field (social work, psychology, nursing assistance, etc.) and a high school diploma or equivalency. Must be 18 years of age. Additionally, the following are required: A reliable car A current driver's license A current work authorization (US Passport, US Work Authorization card, Permanent Resident Card) or a Birth Certificate Social Security Card Current auto insurance Current CPR & First Aid Current physical exam Current tuberculosis test with negative result Resume If hired, background checks (FBI) and a Central Registry (CRS) check will be required.
