Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and dignity. Support residents with medication administration and monitor vital signs to maintain health and safety. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and manage challenging behaviors effectively. Operate manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers. CMT Certification Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption, adhering to dietary guidelines. Engage residents in social activities, community outings, and recreational programs to foster socialization and independence. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports in compliance with organizational policies. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments in residential or community settings. Knowledge of assisted living practices, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and geriatrics is highly desirable. Ability to perform safe patient lifting practices and heavy lifting when necessary. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring. Experience with group home or personal care home environments is a plus. Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and safe patient handling are preferred but can be provided during onboarding.
