HCAs may be assigned to private homes, assisted living communities, adult family homes, home care agencies, senior living communities, or other healthcare settings based on client and facility needs. The Home Care Aide assists clients with activities of daily living while promoting independence, dignity, comfort, safety, and quality of life. Duties must be performed within the caregiver's authorized scope of practice and the client's established care or service plan. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, and personal care. Assist with mobility, ambulation, positioning, transfers, and use of approved assistive devices. Provide companionship, supervision, and emotional support. Assist with meal preparation, feeding, hydration, and dietary needs according to the client's care plan. Perform light housekeeping related to client care, including laundry, changing linens, cleaning client areas, and maintaining a safe environment. Provide medication assistance or reminders only when permitted by Washington law, employer policy, assignment requirements, and the caregiver's training or credentials. Observe clients for changes in physical condition, behavior, mobility, appetite, cognition, or general well-being and promptly report concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Follow individualized care plans, facility procedures, infection-control practices, safety requirements, and emergency procedures. Accurately document services provided, observations, incidents, and other required information. Maintain client privacy and confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements. Follow fall-prevention, infection-prevention, and workplace safety procedures. Maintain professional and respectful communication with clients, families, facility staff, supervisors, and other members of the care team. Respond appropriately to emergencies and immediately report accidents, injuries, suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation, or unsafe conditions according to applicable reporting requirements. Arrive on time for scheduled assignments and notify Savanchi Staffing promptly of scheduling or attendance concerns. Perform other client-care duties within the caregiver's authorized scope, training, assignment requirements, and applicable Washington regulations. Minimum Qualifications Candidates must meet applicable Washington State requirements for the assignment and position, which may include: Active Washington State Home Care Aide (HCA) credential in good standing, when required for the assignment. Completion of required caregiver education and training. Current CPR and First Aid certification when required by the client or facility. Successful completion of applicable Washington State background-check requirements. Ability to provide required employment eligibility and identification documentation. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to communicate effectively and document client care. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and individualized care plans. Reliable attendance and ability to report to assigned locations on time. Prior caregiving, home care, assisted living, adult family home, long-term care, or related experience preferred. Applicants who are exempt from HCA certification requirements under Washington law may be considered when appropriate for the assignment and when documentation of the applicable exemption is provided. Preferred Qualifications Previous professional caregiving experience. Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities. Experience with dementia or Alzheimer's care. Experience in assisted living, adult family homes, home care, or similar settings. Current driver's license, reliable transportation, and automobile insurance for assignments requiring transportation. Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
