Trenholm State Community College Position Summary The Culinary Arts Technician/Assistant is responsible for assisting other chefs and students in the kitchen with instructional activities of the college's Culinary Arts program. Salary Schedule-L; up to 19 hours per week Essential Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of the community college as well as the Culinary Arts Department Establish and implement guidelines and procedures to ensure safe, effective operations in the kitchen consistent with SafeServ and County Health Department requirements Maintain kitchen facilities and equipment. Work with program coordinator, maintenance and/or housekeeping to ensure all major appliances, equipment, and facilities are regularly maintained, serviced, and in good working order. Work closely with all purveyors and food vendors to ensure food product quality, on time deliveries, accurate pricing, and appropriate counts of inventory. Oversee student foodservice operations implementing safety guidelines, managing student work, facilitating catering and other culinary opportunities for students, and monitoring daily kitchen operations Actively participate in the Culinary Arts program advisory committee functions 7. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's Degree in culinary arts, hospitality management or food nutrition Three years of related work experience ServSafe certification Application Procedures/Additional Information Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications as indicated on this vacancy notice and must submit a completed online application packet to be considered for this position.
