Job Description

Sonora Quest Laboratories is seeking a Medical Lab Technician / Medical Lab Scientist to perform accurate, timely diagnostic testing within our Laboratory Services department. In this healthcare role, you will process specimens, operate and maintain analyzers, ensure quality control, and document results in the LIS to support high quality patient care. Responsibilities Perform routine and complex diagnostic tests in chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and immunology Process and analyze patient specimens following established protocols and safety standards Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers Evaluate and document quality control results; assist with proficiency testing Accurately report and document test results in the laboratory information system (LIS) Collaborate with pathologists, clinicians, and team members to support patient care Follow CLIA, CAP, and other regulatory and infection control requirements Participate in training, process improvement, and adoption of new lab technologies Required Skills Clinical laboratory testing Specimen processing Phlebotomy Operation of analyzers (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology) Quality control and calibration Lab information systems (LIS) Regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission) Infection control and safety Result validation and documentation Troubleshooting lab equipment
