Licensed Personnel Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Sample Accessioner provides a vital link between internal customer service and the Laboratory. The Sample Accessioner is responsible for receiving, unpacking, processing and recording samples sent for laboratory testing. In addition to the primary role of sample accessioning, there will be a need to provide back-up support to the Laboratory on an as needed basis. The nature of the work requires excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multi-task and be flexible with tasks and schedules, and the ability to work independently in a team environment. Scope of responsibilities include (other duties may be assigned): Support the Clinical Laboratory staff with sample intake and accessioning. This will entail following all relevant SOPs in logging newly received samples into the computer system. Verifies aspects of incoming samples and assess acceptability of the sample testing. Resolve and document incomplete or unacceptable specimens. Ensure that test requisitions are properly filled out. Manage sample storage inventory. Create sample batches, print labels and label tubes and batches. Perform equipment maintenance and maintain equipment logs and records. Support the administrative functions of the Clinical Laboratory as required. Check, monitor and record temperatures. Clean racks and other laboratory equipment. Work closely with other laboratory staff to provide consistent and ongoing support to the entire service department. Perform other miscellaneous laboratory duties as assigned and assist others as needed. Assist in the update and development of SOPs pertaining to Sample Accessioning. Report all concerns of test quality and/or safety to the Laboratory Director. Perform other duties as assigned. Other duties may include handling stats, training new Accessioners, or other specific duties associated with the Accessioning Department. Adherence to

Innovative Health Diagnostics has established Health and Safety guidelines for the personnel protection of each individual working in the laboratory. Training is provided annually and review is provided as need during staff and team meetings. Strict adherence to the guidelines is required.

Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years clinical laboratory experience preferred. Knowledge of CLIA and California regulatory requirements preferred. Lab Daq Experience a plus
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; sit; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and work with a computer. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and/or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
