You are a Sample Management Laboratory Support Scientist with up to three years of experience providing sample management and laboratory support. You will be located near our Denver Federal Center laboratory. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, project managers, and technical specialists supporting work for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and other Federal, State, local government, and commercial clients. Your work will focus on environmental science, laboratory operations and support, and compliance with NELAP laboratory accreditation requirements. What does your day/week look like? You will perform sample management duties for environmental samples, which includes logging into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), preservation verification, and managing sample storage areas and coolers. You will perform calibration checks of pipettes, balances, weights and thermometers. You will perform waste management duties and assess the need for disposal of analyzed and unused samples. You will conduct chemical and property inventories on a regularly scheduled basis. You will manage sample shipping containers and coolers. You will maintain a clean and organized laboratory work area that adheres to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). What do you need for this amazing opportunity? A bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related science field Legal U.S. citizenship, with ability to obtain and maintain state and federal security clearances Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Good written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and changing environment; flexible and quickly adaptable to changing priorities Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
