Clinical Laboratory Technician
Job Description
Responsibilities:
Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, including the tracking and maintenance of patient identifiers throughout the testing process. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on immunoassay analyzer. Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on Thermo Fisher (Immunoassay, Indiko), BD Max (PCR) and LC/MS (Sciex) instrumentation. Adhere to laboratory quality control policies including performing and documenting all QC activities and performing instrument and procedural calibrations on both instruments. Follow laboratory procedures for specimen processing on Thermo Fisher immunoassay analyzer. Follow established method for preparing and running patient specimens on EIA andLC/MS/MS
instrumentation. Relevant skills include accurate and precise use of micro-pipettes. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and correct the problem or notify the appropriate supervisor. Document thoroughly all laboratory activities including corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications. Proficiency Testing Three times yearly for all instrumentation. Work closely with other laboratory Technicians and Laboratory Director to ensure accuracy of Proficiency Testing. Administration duties including reporting all results to the clinics EMR, assist in reporting failed validity results, Reporting STI results, responding to company wide questions and/or concerns, levy jennings weekly updates, Inventory tracking and ordering. Additional duties and opportunities for this position will be discussed during the interview process. Examples of additional duties include being on call once a month for any machines that may need maintenance or getting back online over the weekend. Quarterly Bonuses if expectations of the position are being met.Educational and experience requirements:
Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree in a laboratory science (i.e. Chemistry)LC/MS/MS
