Assists Instructor in lab to oversee students in safe operation of lab equipment in compliance with college rules and guidelines; monitors students and lab activity for any safety violations and reports violations to supervisor. Prepares/sets up lab for classes; includes cutting material to be used in labs; setting up shop equipment, and maintaining cutting toll inventory, notifying supervisor when supplies are needed. Cleans, checks and performs maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal functioning; maintains equipment maintenance records for area of responsibility. Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee. Must be able to relate and work with faculty and students individually and in groups. Must be able to exercise good judgement and communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must have strong organizational skills and ability to work in a multi-task environment maintaining positive customer relations. Must supervise students in a lab environment. Must maintain, repair and handle tools and tools supplies, as well a demonstrate tool functions and safety procedures for students.
