MD-ANESTHESIOLOGY-GENERAL Classification Title:
OPS Lab Technician Classification Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma, bachelor's in science, or equivalent Perform routine laboratory and animal care support functions in accordance with established protocols Handle, feed, monitor, and assist with anesthetizing laboratory animals (primarily rodents) Assist with behavioral outcome measures and data collection Collect, prepare, and process biological samples, tissues, and physiological fluids Prepare solutions and reagents and assist with histology and immunohistochemistry procedures Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment Follow written and verbal instructions to conduct assigned tasks Maintain accurate records, tabulate data, and enter information into electronic systems Assist with ordering supplies and general laboratory organization Support regulatory compliance activities, including IACUC documentation and laboratory safety requirements
Expected Salary:
$15 - $20 hourly, commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma, bachelor's in science or equivalent Knowledge of basic laboratory and animal handling procedures and the ability to learn Ability to follow protocols and standard operating procedures Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to use computers for data entry and basic administrative tasks
