Our laboratories perform testing for potency, heavy metals, microbial contamination, mycotoxins, residual solvents, terpenes, pesticides, and other regulated testing requirements. Position Overview Kaycha Labs is seeking an Operations Specialist with hands-on professional analytical laboratory experience to support operational projects and initiatives across our multi-state laboratory network. This position is designed for someone who has worked directly in a professional laboratory environment and understands how analytical laboratories operate, including laboratory workflows, instrumentation, sample processing, quality procedures, documentation, and day-to-day operational needs. This is not primarily a bench analyst position . The Operations Specialist will use their laboratory background to support Operations leadership with laboratory projects, process improvements, implementations, equipment and inventory initiatives, laboratory transitions, new-site projects, and operational standardization across multiple locations. The position requires frequent travel, potentially up to 75-80% , to Kaycha Labs locations. What You'll Do Travel to Kaycha Labs locations to provide hands-on operational and project support. Work directly with Operations leadership, Lab Directors, laboratory managers, analysts, and cross-functional teams. Support laboratory projects from planning through implementation and completion. Assist with laboratory openings, expansions, relocations, transitions, and other major operational initiatives. Evaluate laboratory workflows and identify inefficiencies, inconsistencies, resource needs, or opportunities for improvement. Help implement and standardize laboratory procedures, workflows, SOPs, checklists, and operational processes across locations. Coordinate laboratory equipment, supplies, inventory, vendors, shipping, service needs, and other operational resources. Support equipment installations, laboratory setup projects, and operational readiness activities. Maintain project plans, timelines, action-item trackers, documentation, and progress updates. Coordinate with laboratory personnel, vendors, contractors, and internal departments to ensure projects remain on schedule. Assist with rollout and implementation of new laboratory systems, tools, processes, and procedures. Support training coordination and development of process documentation, job aids, and checklists. Document observations from laboratory visits and provide updates and recommended follow-up actions to Operations leadership. Assist with process improvement and operational standardization across multiple laboratories. Support laboratories during increased workloads, staffing transitions, process changes, and other operational needs. Complete additional operational projects as assigned. What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or another related scientific field . Professional experience working in an analytical, regulated, or comparable laboratory environment . Hands-on understanding of laboratory workflows, instrumentation, sample processing, laboratory procedures, and quality requirements. Ability to understand how analytical instruments and laboratory processes fit into overall laboratory operations. Strong organizational and project coordination skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with laboratory personnel, management, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace. Ability and willingness to travel up to 75-80% . Preferred Experience We are especially interested in candidates with 1-3+ years of professional laboratory experience involving one or more of the following: Analytical laboratory testing Laboratory instrumentation Sample preparation or sample processing Laboratory operations Quality control or quality systems Laboratory equipment Laboratory project coordination Process improvement SOP implementation Laboratory setup, expansion, or transition projects Equipment or inventory coordination Experience within cannabis/hemp testing, environmental testing, food testing, pharmaceutical laboratories, or another regulated analytical laboratory environment is strongly preferred. Laboratory experience gained exclusively through academic coursework may not provide the level of professional laboratory exposure required for this position. Candidates should have enough hands-on laboratory experience to understand analytical testing environments and communicate effectively with laboratory scientists, analysts, and management while supporting operational projects. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate combines a scientific laboratory background with strong operational and organizational skills . You may currently be working as a Laboratory Analyst, Analytical Chemist, Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Coordinator, Quality Specialist, Laboratory Operations Specialist, or in another professional analytical laboratory position and be interested in moving into a broader laboratory operations role. This opportunity is best suited for someone who enjoys solving operational problems, improving laboratory processes, coordinating projects, and working across multiple laboratory locations rather than remaining exclusively focused on bench testing. Additional Requirements Must be at least 21 years old. Must successfully pass a Level 2 background check. Must be comfortable working in an analytical laboratory environment. Must be able to travel frequently to Kaycha Labs locations. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment and supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
