30-60 day contract with potential for extension and possible conversion to a full-time position Position Overview We are seeking Quality Assurance Technicians with experience in the food manufacturing industry to support quality and food safety operations. This position will sample products and perform physical and chemical testing in accordance with established Quality Assurance procedures. Candidates should have approximately 2-3 years of food manufacturing experience , preferably within a GMP environment . A degree is preferred but may be flexible based on relevant industry experience. Responsibilities Collect product samples and perform physical and chemical testing according to the Quality Assurance Manual. Work an approximately 8-hour shift, with the potential for shifts of up to 12 hours and overtime as needed. Perform basic laboratory testing, calculations, data collection, and computer data entry. Collect and maintain retain samples according to established frequencies and procedures. Monitor critical control points (CCPs), including pH, water activity, and metal detection . Perform calibration of laboratory equipment as assigned. Maintain adequate inventory of laboratory-prepared colors and flavors. Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly laboratory and work area. Follow established Quality Assurance work practices, Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), and plant safety guidelines. Maintain awareness of and comply with plant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) . Immediately report processing, packaging, or other potential quality issues to the Production Supervisor and QA Manager. Support food safety, quality, 5S, OSHA, and HACCP programs. Ensure compliance with company, customer, and government quality and food safety standards. Participate in company Operational Excellence initiatives. Follow detailed instructions, specifications, and established testing methods. Organize and prioritize multiple tasks while working independently on assigned responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing preferred. Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field preferred; degree may be flexible based on relevant experience. GMP experience/background strongly preferred. Basic understanding of laboratory practices, testing procedures, math, and data collection. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Strong verbal, written, and computer skills. Ability to follow detailed instructions and specifications. Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Ability to learn new testing procedures and support established methods. Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Pay:

$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
