Job Summary and Qualifications The Laboratory Assistant I handles specimen receiving/accessioning duties in the Specimen Processing department of the Laboratory on assigned shift. Responsible for maintaining an efficient workflow in the Specimen Processing department. The Laboratory Assistant I also assists with answering the phone and reconciling test orders, as they are submitted and received in the Laboratory (i.e. Add-ons and test order cancellations). Responsible for outpatient paperwork and phlebotomy.
