Job Description

Lab Tech Jr.
Location:
Gretna, LA Training:
Mon-Fri 7 PM - 3:30 AM; will move to posted schedule after training, Full-time, Contract, Scientific Position Overview Join our client's dynamic toxicology laboratory as a Junior Lab Technician. In this vital role, you will operate advanced analytical instruments to perform confirmatory testing in a regulated environment. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals with a background in biology or chemistry to gain hands-on experience in a high-impact laboratory setting. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of test results, following strict regulatory guidelines. The position offers a structured training period and the chance to contribute to essential quality control processes. Key Responsibilities Operate Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS) and
LC-MS/MS
instruments for confirmatory testing Perform testing in accordance with SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and other regulatory requirements Conduct quality control (QC) duties as assigned Review and interpret test results for accuracy and compliance
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and procedures
Preferred:
Experience operating GC/MS and
LC-MS/MS
instruments Knowledge of SAMHSA or other regulatory guidelines Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn. You thrive in a fast-paced laboratory environment and are committed to maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and compliance. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit are essential. Work Schedule Initial training is scheduled for Monday through Friday, 7 PM to 3:30 AM. Upon completion of training, you will transition to the standard posted schedule. Overtime is paid at time and a half for hours over 40 per week.
