Job Title:
Lab TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves sample preparation, supporting chemists, and conducting analyses using multiple methods in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will adhere to quality measures and regulatory standards, maintain a safe work environment, and demonstrate proficiency in core methods. Responsibilities + Prepare samples and support chemists with sample analysis. + Pull samples trained on one or multiple methods, potentially moving between teams as needed. + Understand and follow Quality System documents such as Quality Manual, SOPs, and Methods. + Adhere to quality measures to meet or exceed standards set by ISO/IEC, cGMP, GLP, and company requirements. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment, complying with health, safety, and environmental regulations. + Demonstrate proficiency in at least one core method and conduct at least one other assigned method with minimal supervision. + Operate all required basic lab equipment within the department. + Set up and weigh batches of samples for analysis. + Perform timely and accurate analysis of samples, preparing them for analysis, and applying data reduction techniques. + Maintain accurate records of work performed, recording test data and results in logbooks or electronic systems. + Identify the need for rechecks from samples assayed. + Maintain clean glassware and prepare solutions for daily testing. + Identify and report method/matrix/analytical difficulties with proposed solutions to the Department Leader or supervisor. + Ensure proprietary methodologies are not disclosed to non-employees without approval. + Respond to queries and needs of clients, staff, and co-workers. + Stay current on technical, industry, and business advancements and trends. + Recommend improvements to laboratory equipment and maintain cooperative working relationships. + Communicate effectively with co-workers and promote the company's image through ethical business practices. + Perform other related duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Experience in a production environment with decision-making skills. + Proficiency in using LIMS and laboratory equipment. + University education in life sciences with courses in chemistry, biochemistry, or organic chemistry. + Research or additional laboratory experience, with part or full-time professional experience. + Proven ability to follow SOPs. + Previous testing experience in analytical chemistry, LC, GC, pipetting, titrations, and microbiology. + Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and communication skills. + Responsive, independent problem solver and action-oriented. + Respectful and positive attitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Understanding of analytical methods and quality control. + Ability to adapt to new instrumentation and methods. + Capability to work independently after training. Work Environment The Lab Technician will work in the Pesticides or Vet Drugs department, Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM during training (4-6 weeks). After training, the schedule can flex as early as 6 AM and as late as 9 PM. The role involves working with two of the largest teams, comprising 20+ members in pesticides and 15+ in vet drugs. The work environment supports documentation and communication, ensuring turnaround times are met and maintaining a neat record system. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
