Job Summary:
Xavier University of Louisiana invites applications for a post-baccalaureate Research Technician. Primary responsibility will be to complete research experiments involving protein expression and purification, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, and/or cell culture. Additional responsibilities of the position include maintaining laboratory stocks, assisting undergraduate research students with basic procedures, and assisting with daily management of routine laboratory work. This is a grant-funded position for a recent B.S. graduate seeking entry-level research experience for a period of 6-18 months.AA/EOE Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a closely related area. Undergraduate or post-baccalaureate research experience in some area of biochemistry or molecular biology.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with one or more of: protein expression and purification, immunoblotting, immunofluorescence, or tissue culture. Demonstrated interest in pursuing research as a career and/or in pursuing an advanced degree in the sciences.Education:
