Core Responsibilities Specimen Collection& Prep:
Perform phlebotomy (blood draws) and instruct patients on providing other samples. Receive, label, centrifuge, and distribute samples to the correct testing departments.
Data Management:
Accurately enter patient information and test results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
Lab Maintenance:
Sterilize and clean lab equipment, glassware, and work areas to prevent contamination. Track inventory and stock testing supplies.
Quality Control:
Monitor temperatures of storage units, calibrate instruments, and report any discrepancies in test results.
Communication:
Field inquiries from nursing units, doctors' offices, and patients regarding specimen requirements and test status.
