Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Technologist-Polysomnographic to join our sleep medicine team in Novi, United States. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive polysomnographic studies, monitoring patients throughout the night, and ensuring accurate data collection for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. You will work in a fast-paced clinical environment where precision, efficiency, and patient care are paramount.

Perform polysomnographic studies by applying and monitoring EEG, EOG, and EMG electrodes according to established protocols and AASM standardsOperate and troubleshoot polysomnographic equipment to ensure optimal functionality and data quality throughout sleep studiesMonitor patients during overnight studies, observing vital signs, sleep stages, and any abnormal events or behaviorsMaintain accurate and detailed documentation of all study data, patient observations, and equipment performance in electronic health recordsEnsure patient comfort and safety throughout the study process while maintaining a professional and reassuring demeanorPrepare study rooms and equipment prior to patient arrival, adhering to infection control and safety proceduresCommunicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and gather relevant medical historyAnalyze preliminary polysomnographic data for quality assurance and identify any technical issues requiring correctionCollaborate with sleep medicine physicians and other clinical staff to support patient care and study interpretationMaintain organized records of equipment maintenance, calibration, and inventory managementStay current with advances in polysomnographic technology and sleep medicine practicesQualificationsProficiency in operating polysomnographic equipment and software systemsStrong knowledge of sleep study protocols and polysomnographic proceduresAbility to accurately place and monitor EEG, EOG, and EMG electrodesExcellent attention to detail with the ability to identify and troubleshoot technical issuesSolid understanding of sleep disorders, sleep stages, and normal versus abnormal sleep patternsProficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical documentationStrong communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interactionKnowledge of infection control procedures and safety protocols in clinical settingsAbility to work independently during overnight shifts while maintaining focus and accuracyOrganizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficientlyFamiliarity with AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) standards and guidelines
