Quality Control Manager Position Summary:

Maintain daily operations, quality procedures, records, and lab functions. Improve employee communications, knowledge, and training on the production floor. Report to supervisor(s) on quality concerns or inefficient procedures. Assist in other daily production positions as required by management. Lab Technicians are responsible for ensuring parts and materials meet company and customer quality standards and have the authority to stop or hold products that do not conform to requirements. This position is on a hybrid schedule supporting both first and second shift. At this time, the schedule is estimated to be: 10:00 am - 6:30 pm but is subject to change based on customer and department demands.

Specific Duties:

Perform verification/calibration of equipment: daily (adhesion knife, gloss meter, humidity, water immersion), weekly (BYK- Mac I, humidity tank, temperature comparison, wave scan, conductive and pH meter, microscope). Complete Datapaq once per shift on both lines. Conduct stage testing. Perform daily testing (ADPX, gloss, and color measurements). Perform water immersion tests (cut one piece of each part daily for 2-hour immersion) and humidity testing (one piece each week per program, per color for 96 hours). Conduct film builds (microscope and log results). Generate defect reports. Approve new paint batches by logging against approved batch list and Certificate of Analysis (CoA). Prepare disposition tags and/or product labels. Complete scrap reports. Conduct layered process audits. Prepare lab reports and submit test packets for outsourced testing. Assist with tasks as requested by the Quality Manager/Supervisor and Quality Control Lab Technician.

Recommended Education and Competencies:

High school diploma or GED. Ability to use, calibrate, and maintain quality testing equipment. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document testing results. Knowledge of quality standards related to paints, coatings, and materials. Ability to identify nonconformities and take corrective action. Good communication skills to report findings to supervisors and production employees. Authority to stop or hold products that do not meet quality requirements.

Pay:

$15.00 - $16.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
