Hematology Lab Tech /

Lab Scientist Job Details:

• This position will be working in the hematology department at Total Lab Solutions, preparing and running blood samples on automated instruments.
• Run all samples in accordance with

CAP / COLA / CLIA

guidelines.

• Perform all daily / weekly / monthly maintenance on equipment and instrumentation.
• Follow all policies and procedures, and ensure all testing is performed to work instruction.
• Calibrate / QC instruments per required frequency.
• Assist in receiving samples into the LIMS system, as well as accession samples into the system.
• Review and release results from hematology instrumentation. Notify customer service or clinics when adverse or critical results occur.
• Participate in all proficiency testing programs.
• Assist in other departments as needed, including the toxicology department or logistics department.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with analytical instruments, with preference to hematology equipment, specifically Beckman Coulter instrumentation.
• Experience working in a clinical lab, preferably with blood samples.
• Bachelor's degree in hard science or clinical lab science.
• Clinical certification, such as ASCP or other.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate degree in hard science or clinical lab science.
• General use of computers, including being able to input patient information and use common Microsoft Office products.
• Familiarity with clinical laboratory terminology.
• Flexible schedule

• Position is full time, Tuesday through Saturday day shift.
