Title Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT, MLS, MT/CLS) Summary Collects, processes, and performs clinical laboratory testing on specimens from neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Is responsible for quality assurance and instrument maintenance. Reports to the Director of Laboratory Services. Compensation We are committed to providing wage ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on experience, education and internal equity considerations. The hourly wage range for this position is MLS $32.45-45.81; MLT $24.66-$34.81. This range reflects the base wage for this position. Key Accountabilities Collects blood specimens and evaluates the acceptability of both blood and non-blood specimens for laboratory testing. Accessions and processes specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing. Performs waived, routine and high complexity laboratory tests within all areas of the laboratory. Reports patient test results according to established laboratory policies. Performs quality control testing and instrument checks. Performs staff competency evaluations. Performs instrument preventative maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. Performs clerical functions associated with each laboratory area. Practices Universal Body Substance Precautions. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Associate's Degree program in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or an accredited Bachelor's Degree program in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Medical Technology (MT), or Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS). MLT, MLS, or MT/CLS certification through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), as applicable to the position, or obtain certification within 6 months of start date. Must enroll in the

program for BLS certification and complete all requirements within 90 days of enrollment. BLS certification must remain current by completing quarterly assignments prior to the end of each calendar quarter. Must be able to speak, read, and write English proficiently to ensure safe and effective communication in a healthcare environment. Must complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training. Schedule 80 hours per two-week pay period Primarily evening shift: 2:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m., 3:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.

Other possible shifts:

6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m., 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.,10:30 p.m.-6:30 a.m. Every 4th weekend on the overnight shift (every 13th weekend from 11:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.) May be asked to flex to a day shift to cover vacation or unexpected absences, based on availability.
