DOE Position Summary The Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Aide is a key member of the pathology team, providing critical support for specimen processing, laboratory workflow, quality practices, and operational efficiency. This position offers an opportunity to build a rewarding career within anatomic pathology and laboratory medicine. We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented professional who demonstrates initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to accuracy, quality, and exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting timely and accurate diagnostic services for patients and providers. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. One year of medical laboratory, pathology, healthcare, or related clinical experience preferred. Medical terminology knowledge or experience preferred. College coursework in biology, chemistry, anatomy, or related sciences preferred; equivalent healthcare or laboratory experience will be considered. Experience with specimen handling, laboratory information systems (LIS) data entry, or pathology workflows are highly desirable. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Primary Responsibilities Receive, accession, process, prepare, store, and distribute patient specimens according to established laboratory procedures Support pathology operations through specimen management, LIS data entry, slide filing, inventory management, and quality documentation. Maintain compliance with CAP, CLIA, HIPAA, and organizational standards Assist with laboratory workflow, supply management, and inspection readiness activities Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment Communicate professionally with pathologists, providers, patients, and fellow team members Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned Physical & Environmental Requirements This position requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work is performed primarily in a laboratory environment and includes exposure to bloodborne pathogens, chemicals, laboratory equipment, and other occupational hazards. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. Pay:
