Job Title:
Lab Technician - 2nd shift Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to perform routine laboratory testing and ensure the quality of plastic pellet products. This role involves conducting various tests, accurately documenting results, and maintaining data within company systems. Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory testing on plastic pellet products. Conduct visual inspections and evaluate materials for quality compliance. Perform tensile, durometer, moisture, melt flow, oxygen index, specific gravity, and IR scan testing. Accurately document test results and complete required paperwork. Utilize laboratory equipment and testing instruments according to established procedures. Enter and maintain data within company systems. Follow quality standards, safety procedures, and laboratory protocols. Support additional testing and laboratory activities as needed. Essential Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to learn new processes quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer proficiency, including experience using Microsoft Office applications. Strong reading comprehension, math, and problem-solving skills. Ability to accurately document and communicate test results. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous laboratory, quality control, manufacturing, or production experience. Experience operating testing equipment or performing material testing. Familiarity with SAP or other manufacturing/ERP systems. Experience using barcode scanners and electronic documentation systems. Work Environment The work environment is a laboratory setting within a manufacturing facility, involving hands-on testing and analysis of plastic pellet materials. The role supports production operations in a fast-paced environment. Initial training will be on the first shift (7:00 AM to 3:15 PM). The role will likely transition to a split shift or fully second shift (3:00 PM to 11:00 PM), involving some hours on the first shift and the rest on the second. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pineville, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
