Job Description
IAPMO R&T
is looking for a hands-on Chemist II to join our Water Filtration Laboratory in Williamstown, New Jersey. This is a great opportunity for a chemistry professional who enjoys laboratory testing, analytical instrumentation, problem-solving, and working in a technical environment. You'll play an important role in testing products, maintaining laboratory quality and safety standards, and supporting the certification process for water filtration products. What You'll Do Perform laboratory testing on water filtration products in accordance with established methods and standards Set up products and test equipment, prepare test solutions, conduct testing, and accurately document results Prepare and issue technical test reports Operate, maintain, and calibrate analytical instrumentation and laboratory equipment Maintain calibration records, laboratory documentation, and testing records Develop, maintain, and review laboratory methods and SOPs Troubleshoot testing, equipment, and technical issues Coordinate test samples and ensure products are properly matched to projects Maintain laboratory supplies, chemical inventories, and product storage Support the laboratory's Chemical Hygiene Plan and safety procedures Assign and coordinate daily tasks with laboratory technicians Communicate with clients, certification agencies, and internal teams Partner with the Lab Supervisor on laboratory projects and continuous improvement initiatives What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or equivalent Strong chemical and technical knowledge Experience working with analytical instrumentation and laboratory equipment Knowledge of laboratory testing methods, standards, and procedures Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand tools and test equipment Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and general computer applications Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative laboratory team Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform the physical functions of a hands-on laboratory environment Salary - $68,000-$86,750 Join the IAPMO Team If you're looking for an opportunity to apply your chemistry background in a hands-on testing environment while contributing to product quality, safety, and certification, we'd love to hear from you.
