Job Description

Agru America Inc., a leader in engineered geosynthetics and plastic piping systems, is seeking a Lab Technician to support its manufacturing operations. In this role, you will perform testing on raw materials, in process, and finished products to ensure compliance with strict quality and safety standards. You will prepare samples, operate and calibrate lab instruments, document and analyze test data, and collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement in materials and processes for critical infrastructure and environmental applications. Responsibilities Perform routine laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished geosynthetic and piping materials to ensure quality standards are met Prepare samples, calibrate and operate lab instruments, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) accurately Document test results, maintain detailed records, and enter data into quality and production systems Support production and engineering teams by communicating test findings and assisting with troubleshooting quality issues Assist with product qualifications, trials, and continuous improvement projects related to materials and processes Follow all safety, housekeeping, and environmental guidelines in the lab and production areas Maintain lab equipment, perform basic preventive maintenance, and report any equipment malfunctions Participate in training, audits, and quality system activities to support ISO and internal standards Required Skills Materials testing (polymers/plastics) Use of laboratory instruments (tensile testers, DSC, MFI, etc.) Sample preparation and handling Reading and following SOPs and test methods Data recording and basic statistical analysis Quality control and inspection in manufacturing Basic understanding of geosynthetics or piping materials Calibration and routine maintenance of lab equipment Use of LIMS or electronic data entry systems ISO or similar quality system experience
