Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Safety Technician to join our dynamic team. Develops and implements inspections for biological research and teaching laboratories and facilities at Ohio University Inspections will be designed to assure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations. Collaborates with the Biological and Radiological Safety Officer on the laboratory inspection program, concentrating on biological research and teaching facilities. Works with the faculty to develop, maintain, and track Biosafety Plans, Safety Animal Use Plans, and Bloodborne Pathogens Plans. Assists in the development and implementation of training programs, including tracking of participants. May serve as an Environmental Health and Safety Department alternate on various committees, such as the IACUC or IBC. Assists Principal Investigators and coordinates with the Office of Research Compliance on database management. Minimum Qualifications Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3-5 years of related professional experience, or equivalent education and experience.
