Job Description

Position Summary American Paint Recyclers is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Quality Control / Lab Technician to support our paint production, packaging, and order fulfillment operations. This position plays an important role in ensuring that finished products are properly prepared, identified, packaged, and ready for customer delivery. The Quality Control / Lab Technician works closely with production and management to maintain product quality, accurate labeling and batch identification, organized inventory, and an efficient order preparation area. The ideal candidate has excellent attention to detail, communicates effectively, plans ahead, takes ownership of their work area, and is comfortable balancing hands-on production responsibilities with basic computer and inventory tasks. The Quality Control / Lab Technician serves as one of the final quality checkpoints before finished products are released into inventory or prepared for customer delivery. Key Responsibilities Quality Control & Product Preparation
  • Maintain strong attention to detail throughout the preparation and packaging process.
  • Verify product color, labeling, batch numbers, and other identifying information before products are packaged or released for orders.
  • Prepare buckets for filling, including applying the correct labels, colors, batch numbers, and required product information.
  • Assist with preparing and blending paint colors according to production requirements.
  • Operate mixers, filtration equipment, and other production equipment as trained.
  • Monitor finished products for consistency and quality and communicate any concerns or discrepancies to management.
  • Help ensure products meet company quality standards before being added to inventory or prepared for customer orders. Order Preparation & Packaging
  • Review and compile customer orders to ensure the correct products and quantities are prepared.
  • Fill paint buckets and containers according to customer order requirements.
  • Properly secure and arrange finished buckets on pallets for shipment or delivery.
  • Inspect filled buckets and remove paint residue from the exterior, so products are clean and professionally presented.
  • When pulling existing inventory, clean dust and debris from containers before they are included in customer orders.
  • Verify orders for accuracy before they leave the preparation area.
  • Assist with staging completed orders for pickup, delivery, or shipment. Quality Control, Batch Tracking & Documentation
  • Verify that each finished product is properly identified by product type, color, sheen (when applicable), and batch number before packaging.
  • Maintain accurate batch identification and traceability records for finished paint products.
  • Confirm that the correct batch information is recorded and applied to all containers produced from the same batch.
  • Perform visual quality checks for color consistency, separation, contamination, texture, and overall product appearance before packaging.
  • Compare finished paint to approved color standards or samples when applicable.
  • Immediately identify and report any product that appears inconsistent or does not meet company quality standards.
  • Hold questionable product from packaging or shipment until it has been reviewed and approved.
  • Maintain samples or documentation from finished batches when required for future quality reference.
  • Assist in investigating customer quality concerns by locating applicable batch information, production records, and retained samples , when available.
  • Maintain organized records so product information can be quickly located if a quality concern arises. Inventory & Supplies
  • Monitor inventory of buckets, lids, labels, packaging materials, and other supplies needed for production and customer orders.
  • Conduct inventory counts as needed and communicate low-stock items before they interfere with production or order fulfillment.
  • Help prepare and organize supplies needed for upcoming orders.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate product and supply inventory records.
  • Plan ahead for scheduled orders to ensure required materials are available. Computer & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Perform basic computer-based order entry and order tracking.
  • Review customer orders for product quantities and preparation requirements.
  • Accurately record information related to inventory, batches, production, and completed orders as required.
  • Communicate discrepancies or questions regarding orders before products are prepared. Organization & Facility Support
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized lab, order preparation area, and applicable warehouse areas.
  • Ensure that products, supplies, labels, and equipment are stored in their designated locations.
  • Assist with routine cleaning and housekeeping responsibilities.
  • Monitor and order breakroom and general facility supplies as assigned.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve organization, workflow, quality, and efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on production and operational needs. Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the workday.
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to safely handle paint buckets and production materials.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Ability to use the required personal protective equipment and follow all company safety procedures.

Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
