R D Lab Technician Job Description As a Lab Technician, you will perform routine bench-scale polymerization testing, including catalyst activation and ethylene polymerization. Your role will involve conducting routine polymer processing and testing, safely handling air-sensitive materials using glove box and standard inert atmosphere techniques, preparing silica supports and silica-supported polymerization catalysts following established methods, and performing routine analyses on silica support and supported catalyst samples. Responsibilities Perform routine bench-scale polymerization testing including catalyst activation and ethylene polymerization. Conduct routine polymer processing and testing. Safely handle air-sensitive materials using glove box and standard inert atmosphere techniques. Prepare silica supports and silica-supported polymerization catalysts following established methods. Perform routine analyses on silica support and supported catalyst samples. Essential Skills Proficiency in Chemistry and Physical Chemistry. Experience in laboratory and chemical handling. Associates Degree in Science with 2 years of hands-on industrial lab experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, or Materials Science. Experience performing laboratory procedures. Experience working in a Research and Development lab. Work Environment You will work in the Polyolefins R D Lab, spending your time independently as well as collaborating with a team of 5. The work schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conshohocken, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
