Lab Technician

Position Summary The Lab Technician reports to the Lab Supervisor and is responsible for a variety of tasks in the Lab including, but not limited to, the duties listed below. This position would provide on-the-job training, therefore prior experience in a Laboratory setting is highly preferred, but may not be required. Requirements

• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use a personal computer with basic word-processing and spreadsheet applications Duties
• Monitors lab supply inventory, inputs production data and other work-output data into appropriate network or departmental database, and maintains documentation in accordance with established procedures.
• Provides analytical reports
• Sample preparation and instrumental analysis for target compound quantification and unknown structure elucidation
• Perform analysis of customer supplied samples.
• Demonstrates ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Directions for Testing (DFT) documents.
• Establishes as appropriate internal/cross-functional/customer relationships.
• Evaluate quality, cost, shipping, and availability of all raw material and submit recommendations concerning suppliers.
• Participates in and contributes to internal/external teams and discussions.
• Performs quality assurance, data interpretation.
• Organizes, conducts, and monitors laboratory compliance activity. Responsible for review and reconciliation of lab audit checklists, and ensuring compliant laboratory practices.
• Demonstrates competence in reading and completing charts, forms, and other documents.
• Perform instrument calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation Qualifications
• Minimum High School Diploma
• Prior Lab experience preferred, but not required
