About Assured Bio Labs Assured Bio Labs an AIHA accredited environmental microbiology laboratory comprised of a team of 15 staff members. We operate as a lean, high-performance laboratory, where individual ownership and attention to detail directly impact the quality of our work. Based in Oak Ridge, TN, we specialize in providing testing services for indoor air quality, water systems, and healthcare environments. Our work integrates analytical culture techniques, microscopy, and molecular methods to generate clear, actionable data delivered through reporting. As an AIHA accredited laboratory, our procedures are performed within a quality system aligned with ISO/IEC 17025 and industry best practices. Position Overview This full-time, in-person role performs chemical and biological analyses of client-submitted water samples in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. The water team consists of one full-time technician, supported by technicians from other teams. Success in this structured laboratory environment requires close attention to detail, organization, consistent technique, and reliable execution of standardized protocols. Responsibilities Analyze client submitted water samples for chemical and biological contaminants according to Standard Operating Procedures Assist with logging in projects, data entry, and reporting results Maintain, calibrate, and clean water analysis instruments Maintain standards, solutions, and relevant quality assurance logs Support Water Project and Quality Control Tracking documents Support Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and Controlled Document (CD) review Support quality control sample testing in accordance with accrediting body requirements and company policy Perform essential daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory support tasks including washing labware, organizing samples, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and compliant lab environment Qualifications Bachelor's degree in chemistry, environmental chemistry, biochemistry Two years of laboratory experience (water analysis experience preferred) Proficiency with Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS) for common metals analysis in water preferred. ICP-OES or ICP-MS metals-analysis experience accepted in lieu of FAAS experience. Candidates with strong hands-on experience using other analytical instrumentation for water analysis—such as GC, LC/HPLC, IC, or spectrophotometry—will also be considered. Ability to operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments; prepare standards and quality-control samples; and follow established SOPs. Compensation and Benefits $23-$28 per hour, commensurate with relevant analytical instrumentation and water-analysis experience.
