Job Description

Description:
This Special Studies Technician 1 is responsible for the technical operations of shelf life, microbial challenge, and process validation studies assigned to the position by the director, which primarily includes support for the shelf-life study program. These duties include making solutions and media, maintaining sample storage and disposal, logging samples into LIMS system, data entry, organoleptic analysis, and reporting. This technician is to assist with special microbial challenge studies and validation studies. The technician may be asked to prepare samples, make solutions, and prepare tests for Molecular Biology Department, to support team members when needed.
Requirements:
Primary Duties:
Sample log in Shelf-life study preparation including compositing, labeling bags, capturing photos, etcetera Organoleptic analysis Data entry Study organization Study preparation Special studies Media production
Secondary Duties:
Preparation of shelf-life study reports Nematode identification Maintaining sample locating and preparation Solution preparation Laboratory equipment preparation
Tertiary Duties:
1. ELISA assays, as applicable 2.
Department QC Shared Duties:
Checking temperatures, scales, hood logbooks, and end of day checklist Maintaining adequate stock of necessary supplies Taking out garbage and recycling Equipment maintenance Maintaining clean and organized workspaces
