Job Description

Lab Technician Hours:
7:00am
  • 5:30pm, Monday
Thursday Position Summary:
This role supports daily laboratory operations and quality control activities, ensuring the lab runs efficiently. The goal of this position is to allow the formulation team to focus on product development by handling routine QC testing, documentation, and laboratory upkeep.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform general lab upkeep, such as keeping workbenches, dishes, and equipment clean and ready for use. Calibrate equipment each morning.
  • Operate lab equipment: viscometers, pH meters, scales, mixers, and centrifuges.
  • Accurately perform viscosity, pH, and specific gravity measurements per SOPs and Work Instructions.
  • Perform stability testing and complete associated documents.
  • Perform quality testing on manufacturing samples and complete associated documents.
  • Manage physical and digital lab chemical inventory. Ensure correct handling of chemicals.
  • Maintain organized filing system for physical documents.
  • Perform occasional benchwork (small batching of personal care products) according to written instructions and record measurements.
Qualities:
  • Must be able to independently follow written instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Must demonstrate accuracy and integrity in recording and reporting results.
  • Must abide by all relevant SOPs and Work Instructions.
  • Must have proficiency in Google Sheets.
  • Must abide by laboratory dress code, including all necessary PPE such as lab coat, gloves, and glasses.
  • Proficiency in simple math (multiplication and percentages) is preferred.
Qualifications:
  • Entry level
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Undergraduate coursework in a physical science OR relevant laboratory experience preferred
Compensation:
$17
  • 19/hr dependent on experience
