1 Description American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN for a long-term care unit, requiring an active AK license, prior travel experience, and at least 1 year of LTC experience. Details Long-term care facility with 40 staffed beds LTC unit with a 1:20 patient ratio Scheduled for 4x12 or 3x12 variable shifts, either days (0700-1930) or nights (1900-0730), traveler's choice Caregivers are not typically rotated between day and night shifts May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities nearby Uses ECS charting system No on-call requirements Requirements Current
AK LPN/LVN
license required in hand at time of submission if applicable Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required Current BLS certification required Must obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification during onsite orientation Previous travel healthcare experience required 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years Additional Information Responsibilities include patient admissions, communication of status changes to RN/MD, isolation precautions/PPE, vital sign monitoring, ambulation, skin and mouth care, blood glucose monitoring, medication administration (oral, IM/SQ, eye/ear drops), NG/G tube care, respiratory support (oxygen, nasal cannula, face masks), feeding tube management, and foley catheter insertion Scrub color is unrestricted Free parking available onsite Facility provides shuttle service to and from Anchorage at the start and end of assignment, plus local shuttle service in Seward First-time travelers are not accepted for this position Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility No more than 2 weeks of RTO considered for a 26-week contract, and candidates must be willing to work at least 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) All RTO requests must be submitted upfront and will not be considered after an offer or contract signing Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
