Overview We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team on a weekend-only schedule. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, with experience in various clinical settings and a passion for supporting individuals with diverse healthcare needs. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide vital nursing services while working flexible hours that focus exclusively on weekends. The LPN will be responsible for delivering high-quality, compassionate care in accordance with established protocols and regulations, ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients. Duties Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions, while adhering to sterile techniques and safety standards. Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as specimen collection, processing, and basic medical imaging procedures. Provide wound care, catheterization, and tube feeding management tailored to individual patient needs. Support emergency response efforts through first aid, airway management, and acute pain management protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement personalized care plans for patients with complex conditions such as dementia or developmental disabilities. Maintain clinical confidentiality policies in compliance with HIPAA regulations while documenting medical records thoroughly and accurately. Ensure infection control practices are followed diligently to prevent the spread of infectious diseases within healthcare environments such as hospitals or skilled nursing facilities. Experience Valid LPN license with current state licensure required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Prior experience working in diverse clinical settings including long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, hospitals, or outpatient clinics. Demonstrated proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner, Epic, or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management. Experience managing patients with complex needs including Alzheimer's disease, memory care residents, or those requiring hospice or palliative care services. Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), medication administration protocols, and nursing documentation standards. Background in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers is advantageous; familiarity with acute care practices is essential. Skilled in patient assessment techniques across various age groups including pediatrics, geriatrics, neonates, and individuals with disabilities or special needs.
