Job Description

Gifted Healthcare is seeking a Travel MedSurg LPN for an assignment in Dothan, Alabama. In this role, you'll deliver compassionate bedside care, monitor patient status, administer medications, and support RN and physician care plans on a fast-paced medical-surgical unit. The LPN will perform wound care, IV therapy within scope, and patient education while ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to facility protocols. Responsibilities Provide direct bedside nursing care to Med Surg patients under RN/physician supervision Administer medications and treatments per orders and within LPN scope of practice Monitor, document, and report changes in patient condition using EHR systems Perform wound care, dressing changes, and basic IV therapy as allowed by state regulations Obtain and record vital signs, intake/output, and support diagnostic procedures Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge instructions Maintain infection control, safety, and quality standards on the unit Complete required travel assignment documentation and comply with facility policies Adapt quickly to new hospital settings and workflows as a travel clinician Required Skills Medical-surgical nursing Medication administration Patient assessment and monitoring Wound care management IV therapy (within LPN scope) Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Vital signs and telemetry monitoring Care coordination with RNs and physicians Patient and family education Infection control and safety protocols
