PURPOSE OF POSITION /SUMMARY

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides nursing services to the residents according to physician orders while meeting the personal care needs for quality of life for each resident. The LPN is responsible for oversight/administration of all medications, resident care and treatments. Ensures residents are well cared for in an environment that encourages independence and individuality while providing appropriate assistance. Treats residents with dignity and respect while creating a home-like environment. Will be expected to follow all Arizona State Assisted Living rules and regulations; maintain/protect privacy and confidentiality of all resident information. Maintains resident records and charting per state and community regulations/policies. Participates in required in-service training programs. Implements best practice standards for all medical/resident care; implements the rules and regulations set forth by the State of Arizona Assisted Living Regulations and Community Policies. Employees working in the Senior Living division may directly or indirectly be exposed to infectious diseases and/or biological hazards. Perform other job duties, as assigned.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Resident Care - Completes resident assessments as needed; complete all admission paperwork; case management for residents including coordinating and scheduling physician appointments for assisted living residents; works with the Assisted Living Manager to develop a resident service plan that ensures appropriate care for the resident; schedules and updates resident care plan meetings according to community policies and state regulations; processing physician and medication orders; observes, assesses, records, reports resident symptoms/reactions/progress; protects privacy and confidentiality of resident information; follows universal precautions for all residents. Implements best practice standards for all medical/resident care; implements the rules and regulations set forth by the State of Arizona Assisted Living Regulations and Community Policies. Recordkeeping / chart review - Orders, administers, maintains and counts the medication inventory for residents; maintains the resident charts including but not limited to monthly charting (per charting schedule), Medication Administration Record (MAR) review, medication cart review and chart maintenance; completes/coordinates all lab specimens collected at the community for appropriate transport to the laboratory facility; oversees appropriate medical supply inventory; maintains emergency information, physician contacts, medication administration records, physician orders, charts according to the Arizona Assisted Living Regulations and Community Policies; establishes and coordinates durable medical equipment needs. Communication with residents and staff including: educating staff and residents on health related issues; training and education of care staff; will be part of the call off phone rotation in addition to the Resident Services Coordinators. Conducts regular inspections of resident suites for issues regarding infection control, medication management and safety issues. Also reports these situations as needed to appropriate management. Notifies appropriate persons for all resident emergencies and incidents according to Arizona regulations and community policies. Completing and issuing confinement letters as needed. Complete required in-service training including licensure and certifications per State regulations. Establishes communication with area healthcare institutions for follow-up care of Renaissance Assisted Living residents. Performs TB testing for employees and Assisted Living Residents.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/COMPUTER/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Minimum one (1) year experience as Assisted Living/elder care LPN Current and in good standing LPN license through the state of Arizona Experience in service plan management Current Fingerprint Card Adult CPR Certified TB Test - Annually First Aid Certified The Robson Companies has a well-established history of successful master-planned active adult communities and has expanded their residential projects to include senior living.
