Job Summary:

The Program Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to clients in a residential mental healthcare setting. This role serves as the primary liaison between the psychiatrist and clients, ensuring that psychiatric care is effectively coordinated and that all medical needs are met within the scope of the facility's services. The Program Nurse will manage client assessments, medication administration, and ongoing documentation while supporting the overall treatment plan and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

Job Duties:

Meet the needs of the resident, family, and treatment team through effective communication, coordination, and documentation Treat all residents, visitors, and staff with courtesy Maintain a supportive and safe environment for residents Enforce adherence to program policies and rules Model professional boundaries with residents and staff Attend in-service trainings Ability to demonstrate respect for cultural and lifestyle diversities of residents and staff Medication observation/refills/counts/audits/discontinuation Resident intake/discharge Resident urine drug screenings and/or breathalyzer Record vitals and perform rounds Adhere to all detox protocols Utilize electronic medical record to record shift change reports and communication Oversee daily completion of checklists of duties and maintain accurate medication records Act as a liaison between medical providers and the treatment team Provide additional assistance to the treatment team as needed

Successful completion of licensed vocational nursing program (current LVN license) One-year experience or part-time equivalent working with persons who have mental health disorders preferred One-year experience or part-time equivalent working in residential healthcare (short term licensed facilities preferred) Current California Driver's License A clean driving record An active and valid CPR/First Aid certification Must be physically and mentally able to assist in an emergency situation Excellent organizational skills Ability to learn and use basic technologies for tracking, documentation and communication purposes Strong attention to detail Desire to grow professional boundaries Once a conditional offer has been made, both a motor vehicle and criminal background check will be performed as well as a Live Scan.

Schedule:

10AM-6:30PM Weekend Availability (on call as needed off hours to help with client care and Dr.'s orders)

Compensation:

Range based on license (LVN or RN) and previous experience
