• 8:45 AM-5:30 PM, 3 days per week; 1 day until 6:00 PM; rotating Saturday schedule of 8:30 AM-1:00 PM

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our pediatric clinical team. The LPN will provide high-quality, family-centered care to pediatric patients while working closely with providers and the clinical team. This is a hands-on clinical position in a fast-paced pediatric practice. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, compassionate, and comfortable working with children and their families.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Patient Care Prepare patients and examination rooms for provider visits. Provide patient and parent/guardian education as directed by the provider. Assist with patient follow-up, test results, referrals, and other clinical communications. Perform pre-visit planning in accordance with practice standards. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Telephone Triage Perform telephone triage for pediatric patients and families in accordance with established clinical protocols and practice procedures. Obtain and document relevant patient information, symptoms, and concerns. Provide appropriate guidance and instructions within scope of practice and established protocols. Recognize urgent or potentially emergent symptoms and promptly escalate concerns to the provider or appropriate clinical staff. Document all telephone triage encounters accurately in the EMR. Vaccines & Immunization Management Administer routine and seasonal vaccines according to provider orders and established protocols. Maintain accurate vaccine administration documentation and immunization records. Monitor vaccine inventory and expiration dates. Check and document vaccine refrigerator/freezer temperatures according to practice policy and applicable requirements. Follow proper vaccine storage, handling, preparation, and administration procedures. Report vaccine storage concerns, temperature excursions, expired vaccines, or inventory discrepancies immediately. Medical Supplies & Inventory Maintain adequate inventory of medical supplies and clinical equipment. Perform routine inventory checks and monitor established par levels. Monitor expiration dates and rotate supplies appropriately. Remove expired or compromised supplies from patient-care areas. Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and organizing medical supplies. Report supply shortages, damaged products, or equipment concerns to leadership. Maintain clean, organized, and adequately stocked examination rooms and clinical areas. Forms & Clinical Documentation Complete and process school, camp, daycare, sports, physical, medication authorization, and other patient-related forms based on provider orders and clinical documentation. Ensure required immunization, physical examination, and health information is accurately documented. Assist with medical records, referrals, and other clinical paperwork as needed. Ensure all clinical documentation is complete, accurate, and entered into the EMR in a timely manner. Patient Safety & Quality Follow infection prevention, OSHA, HIPAA, vaccine storage/handling, and patient safety requirements. Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards at all times. Participate in staff meetings, required training, competency assessments, and quality improvement activities. Promote a safe, welcoming, and family-centered environment for pediatric patients. Perform other clinical duties as assigned. Obtain and accurately document vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation as appropriate. Perform routine hearing and vision screenings according to established pediatric protocols and document results accurately in the EMR. Assist providers with pediatric examinations, procedures, treatments, and follow-up care. Administer vaccines and medications in accordance with provider orders, scope of practice, training, and applicable regulations. Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing as trained and within scope of practice. Perform CLIA laboratory testing according to provider orders, manufacturer instructions, established clinical protocols, and applicable regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Current and valid LPN license in the state of practice. Current CPR/BLS certification. Pediatric healthcare experience preferred. Demonstrated competency in vital signs, vaccine administration, venipuncture, specimen collection, and clinical documentation. Experience with pediatric telephone triage preferred. Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced pediatric clinical environment.
