The LPN at Segal Trials provides clinical support to patients/subjects admitted to the research unit under the supervision of nursing manager. LPN interacts with patients/subjects directly to ensure delivery of clinical care based on the clinical research study protocol. LPN identifies and escalates issues proactively to department leadership.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Ensures that clinical research and related activities are performed in accordance with Federal Regulatory guidelines and sponsor policies. Develops a thorough working knowledge of all protocols assigned/delegated so that all study activities are completed accurately and completely. Provides monitoring of participants health status on the floor including duties such as vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, and ensuring participants' comfort. Answers telephone and communicates with other disciplines and facilities, including the coordination of patient transfers from community physicians/healthcare facilities if needed. Administers Investigational Products and Concomitant medications as per PI discretion. Captures Adverse events and reports to PI/SI and Study Coordinators. Immediately reports any observed changes in condition or behavior of patients. Dispenses study drug as delegated by the investigator in accordance with the study requirements Oversees general milieu while promoting a safe environment. Incorporates non-violent crisis intervention de-escalation techniques to effectively manage the agitated Subject Understands and honors the established research unit rules, regulations, and Policy & Procedures. REQUIREMENTS

Active Florida LPN License CPR certified Previous experience with psychiatric and substance abuse patients preferred Working knowledge of Nurse Practice Acts Who We Are?
