POSITION SUMMARY
Performs nursing functions for physician/extender. Supports the Objectives and Philosophy of White-Wilson Medical Center.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepares equipment and aids provider during treatment, examination, and testing of patients including patient screening, histories, and vital signs.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with clinical standards.
  • Observes, records and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
  • May perform point of care testing and resulting.
  • May perform venipuncture, ensuring accurate and safe collection of blood samples.
  • Performs patient outreach for value-based initiatives and patient optimization programs.
  • Oversees appointment bookings and ensures preferences are given to patients in emergency situations. Assists in maintaining timely flow of patients.
  • Coordinates and schedules procedures at hospitals or surgery centers and handles any prior authorizations that may be necessary.
  • Initiates patient referrals and coordinates with staff if a patient has barriers with the outside referral.
  • Provides patient education regarding procedures.
  • Calls patients with necessary results.
  • Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.
  • Refills prescriptions and handles any medication authorizations for patients.
  • Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness.
  • Consistently displays a positive attitude and a personal commitment to excellence.
  • Attends all department meetings and clinic required meetings.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
