Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Pediatrics to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to children and their families in various clinical settings. As an LPN-Pediatrics, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive nursing services, supporting medical teams, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for children requiring medical attention.

GENERAL EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

License from accredited School of Nursing. Responsibilities Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and developmental evaluations specific to pediatric patients. Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following established protocols and safety guidelines. Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as specimen collection, processing, and basic medical imaging procedures. Provide patient education on health management, medication administration, nutrition, and disease prevention tailored for children and their families. Support care planning activities including discharge planning, long-term care coordination, and case management for pediatric patients with complex needs. Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality policies. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver specialized care such as Alzheimer's or dementia care when applicable to pediatric cases with developmental disabilities or neurological conditions. Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed during all procedures to promote safety for patients and staff. Skills Proven experience working with pediatric populations across various healthcare settings including hospitals, clinics, or home care environments. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for documentation and patient management. Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to child healthcare. Skilled in administering injections, catheterization, tube feeding, sterile technique, and basic life support (BLS). Experience managing acute pain cases, triage procedures, ventilator management, and emergency response protocols within Level I or Level II trauma centers preferred. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding for procedures, and documentation standards aligned with NCQA standards. Ability to communicate effectively with children of different age groups as well as their families; compassionate caregiver communication skills are essential. Knowledge of infection control practices specific to pediatrics including neonatal ventilator management when applicable.
