Role:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care within various healthcare settings across the United States. This position involves providing direct nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, ensuring patients' comfort, safety, and well-being. The LPN will monitor patient health, administer medications, and assist with daily living activities, contributing to comprehensive care plans. Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members is essential to coordinate care and support positive health outcomes. Minimum Qualifications:
Current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment within the United States. Completion of an accredited practical nursing program. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent. Demonstrated knowledge of nursing principles, patient care techniques, and medical terminology. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a clinical or long-term care setting. Additional certifications such as IV therapy, wound care, or geriatric nursing. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Ability to speak a second language relevant to the patient population served. Continuing education or specialized training in areas such as chronic disease management or palliative care.
Responsibilities:
Provide basic nursing care to patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering prescribed medications, and assisting with personal hygiene and mobility. Observe and report changes in patients' conditions to registered nurses and physicians promptly to ensure timely interventions. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting care provided and any significant observations. Assist with medical procedures and treatments as directed by healthcare professionals, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Educate patients and their families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and post-treatment care instructions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and facility policies.
