•70-mile radius rule applies Job Overview We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a 13-week contract assignment at a correctional healthcare facility in Leavenworth, Kansas . The LPN will provide nursing care to inmates/residents, administer medications, assist physicians with examinations and treatments, perform clinical procedures within the scope of practice, and maintain accurate medical documentation. Responsibilities Provide basic nursing care and perform nursing duties within the scope of an LPN license Follow physician orders and assist with examinations and treatments Conduct sick call and assist the physician during patient evaluations Operate pill call and dispense medications according to established procedures Maintain control and inventory of medications, syringes, supplies, and medical equipment Perform emergency procedures as needed Document patient care, medical activities, and treatment accurately Maintain confidentiality and security of medical records Observe and document inmate/resident behavior Assist with medical records, reports, logs, and chart reviews Follow facility safety, security, and infection-control procedures Escort or coordinate movement of inmates/residents for medical treatment Communicate effectively with patients, staff, administration, and medical personnel Work in a secure correctional environment and follow all applicable facility policies Requirements Graduate of an approved practical nursing program Active LPN license in the state of employment Valid driver's license Strong nursing and clinical skills Ability to work in a correctional/secure healthcare environment Ability to work days or nights based on facility needs U.S. Citizenship required for ICE clearance Candidates must be able to complete a thorough background and credit investigation

Important:
